Coal mine gas is also called coal bed methane and coal bed gas. Coal bed methane(CBM) is a mixture of methane, carbon dioxide and nitrogen from coal and surrounding rock. It is colorless, tasteless, combustible and easy to explode, there is accidents occurring possibility in coal exploration and acquisition. Coal mine gas can be divided into high methane concentration gas and low methane concentration gas. High methane concentration gas refers to the gas concentration greater than 25%, while low methane concentration gas refers to the gas concentration less than 25%. Methane is the main combustible content in coal mine gas, the combustion characteristic is similar to natural gas, but due to the low calorific value, pressure concentration change, and oxygen, hydro content, it requires special design and adaptive development for the low methane concentration generator set according to the combustion characteristics, and the matching dehydration equipment shall be equipped due to the large hydro content included in the gas. Low methane concentration gas utilizes for power generation not only reduces carbon emissions, but also realizes the virtuous cycle development of coal mine, whichutilization contribute to methane extraction and the methane extraction contribute to safety”.
